Dip into the cryptic and ever-evolving depths of a gloomy isle in Dead Cells. In this enigmatic roguevania action platformer, you’re the product of an ill-fated alchemical experiment. Your mission, should you embrace it, is to decipher what transpired on this dismal landmass, maneuvering past its fierce custodians. Here, mortality is but a speed bump in your quest for knowledge. Embrace a frantic, weapon-filled 2D combat environment, mastering the patterns of savage minions and bosses alike. The only things stopping you are death itself… and perhaps an overactive tendency to shout “baguette”!
A BITE INTO THE NIGHT: RETURN TO CASTLEVANIA DLC
Return to the hallowed, vampire-infested halls of Castlevania in Dead Cells’ latest downloadable content (DLC). This new storyline lets players brave the darkness, overcoming the Ruler of Darkness with the help of characters like Alucard and Richter Belmont. Explore two new biomes, Dracula’s Castle and its surroundings, teeming with nine fresh monsters like werewolves and haunted armors. Choose from 14 new weapons, including the Vampire Killer and Holy Water, to combat these unholy creatures. Not to forget, three formidable new bosses, including Dracula and Death, are waiting to give you a run for your money. And hey, while you’re at it, why not dress up as your favorite Castlevania character? An astounding 20 new outfits await, with an alternative soundtrack featuring 51 original and 12 reimagined Castlevania tunes.
SEEDING YOUR DOOM: THE BAD SEED DLC
The Bad Seed DLC adds a green-fingered twist to our beloved game. It takes players to the not-so-tranquil Dilapidated Arboretum and the hazardous Morass of the Banished. New adversaries, like the Jerkshroom and the Yeeter, lurk in these wild lands, waiting to be shredded. Utilize fresh weapons such as the Scythe Claw and the Rhythm n’ Bouzouki to triumph over your foes. Plus, the cherry on top – an epic showdown with Mama Tick, a boss with a knack for unsettling introductions.
TAKE THE PLUNGE: FATAL FALLS DLC
Ready for a leap of faith? The Fatal Falls DLC introduces three refreshing biomes – the Fractured Shrines, Undying Shores, and the picture-perfect Mausoleum. In these scenic locales, you’ll meet eight friendly-looking monsters eager to introduce you to their exciting customs. Seven new weapons, including the Snake Fangs and lil’ Serenade, will aid in breaking the ice (or skulls). And let’s not forget about the Scarecrow, a boss who’s way too proud of his gardening skills.
A NAUTICAL NIGHTMARE: QUEEN AND THE SEA DLC
The Queen and the Sea DLC is an exhilarating aquatic adventure. Embark on an epic quest through a rotten shipwreck or a blazing lighthouse to confront your deadliest adversary. Arm yourself with nine maritime-inspired weapons, including a throwable shark and a pirate hook hand (we’ve left out the eyepatch). Two new bosses are primed to give you a royal welcome. Just a heads up: this DLC might not run smoothly on devices with less than 2GB of RAM.
MOBILE MADNESS: THE USER-FRIENDLY INTERFACE
The transition of Dead Cells to mobile devices has been executed with the user in mind, boasting a carefully redesigned interface. Two game modes, Original and Auto-Hit, cater to diverse player preferences. There’s a buffet of control customization options, including adjusting the position and size of buttons or opting for a swipe-to-dodge feature. For a seamless gaming experience, the game also supports MFi external controllers. Fear not; there are no ads or free-to-play mechanics to impede your gruesome journey.
