When there is significant passenger traffic waiting in line to use your passenger ticketing and screening machines, you will know it is time to upgrade them. Passengers will be forced to wait in the lobby if they do not use the available funds to build a smoking room, a VIP lounge, or restrooms. This wastes everyone’s time and contributes nothing to the situation’s progress. If you proceed with your plans despite the passengers’ wishes, those passengers will become irritated and eventually leave your port.
In addition to selling ferry tickets, it is wise to open some shops where goods can be purchased. A grocery store and a restaurant are examples of businesses that qualify as stores selling goods. Don’t forget to upgrade the store by expanding the premium item selection and the speed with which it receives customers. Even if you leave the operation, the port will continue to generate revenue for you even after you’ve left. Remember that you will need to reopen the game occasionally to retrieve any accumulated winnings. You have total command of your harbor!
